So, when it came to understanding the world of the Internet, I was scared right down to my toes. Friends and family have had to drag me, kicking and screaming, into this new world of technology. Now that I'm here, though, I'm finding that it's kind of fun! What a great way to get to know so many wonderful people. Some of my most touching and memorable moments have been hearing from readers. In case you're wondering about me, I'm originally from Louisiana. I've lived in Florida, Kentucky, the California bay area, and finally settled in Southern California where I met and married a really romantic guy a little over twenty years ago. We blended our families, his three kids and my two, and have been living happily (if a little insanely) ever after. Raising five kids and working in my husband's construction firm kept me busy, but for as long as I can remember I'd felt a yearning that I just couldn't put my finger on. Until I read a romance. Some people have always known they were destined to be a writer. Not so with me. I was in my thirties when I got my hands on that first romance novel. I was hookedI burned dinners (or forgot to start them!) and snarled at anyone who dared interrupt while I was reading one of these gripping stories! That's when I realized I wanted to be a writer. A romance writer. I love the power and the emotions and the positive statements that romance novels make. Then one day, my husband cut an article out of the paper about a romance writer's conference and said, "you should go to this. You could do this." I figured if he had that much faith in me, I surely ought to give it a shot. And by that time, the dream of being a writer had really taken hold. So I set about writing the stories I loved to read, stories that touch the heart, tug at the reader's emotions, and always, without fail, have a happy ending. Of course in the beginning I didn't know what the heck I was doing. It took me ten years in between raising kids, working and gathering rejections before I sold my first novel to Harlequin American Romance in 1995. And since that first exciting day that I got the call, I've been having a ball. What a great job. I firmly believe in women being in love with their workthat we should all do what we love, and love what we do. For me, that's writing romances. It is my fondest hope that the books I write will touch your heart and bring you the kind of joy other authors have brought to me over the years. When not writing or meddling in the kids and grandkids lives, my ideal getaway is a good book, hot sunshine, and a chair at the river's edge at our second home along the Parker Strip in Arizona. I hope you enjoy my web site. Stay a while, sign my guest book, send me an e-mail. I love to hear from readers and always write back. If you don't hear from me right away, that just means I'm at the riverbut I do eventually come home.
